Fail It! Just To Get It Over With.

Every once in a while things pile up with such immensity that it just seems insurmountable. No matter how much you try to get back to a singular priority, you feel so far behind that you'd rather do anything than face it. So what do you do? Throw in the towel whether it's going to hurt you or not.

Usually I manage to overcome this feeling. I know a lot of people joke about me being a "straight A" student and hassle me about why I worry about my grades... it's because of moments like these. I've failed major exams before and luckily have managed to recover those failings grades to maintain my average.

I think I've worn myself down a bit though this year, I've been in school non-stop since last January and with the crushing frustration of our collapsing French  program and wreck that has become my once (almost) clean household; I'm feeling a little paraseuse... a little lazy. So I'm staring down this French test on Thursday knowing full well the teacher might change the date for the rest of the class because of issues understanding some of the material... but I'm almost willing to just throw myself at it and fail (or at least do poorly) just to be done with it. I want to start over again with the new chapters, materials, etc. I want to just go ahead and take a break and get this paper and presentation done with. Actually I just want a nap and for this headache to go away.

I have been joking with myself lately, because my husband and I have been watching HERO's on Netflix, that I feel like Hiro except, instead of trying to save the Cheerleader, I'm trying to save the French Language Track.
Save the French Major, Save the School
In the process I'm going to fail my French test. *mdr* as the French emote.  I shouldn't be so melancholy. Today was the 5th birthday of my youngest daughter and honestly it was a wonderful day. We had the best time and she got to see a lot of her old friends and her new classmates. We had cake, dinner at the Mellow Mushroom and she got a ridiculous number of presents... but now I have to get back to work and I think that's what is bumming me out. I just want to take a break... but I guess that day will come eventually.

For now, back to my headache, my exam review, book fair scheduling, checking up, laundry, and saving the Language Department. Some one's got to do it.
