Well, I'm welcoming myself back to my blog for a minute. Congrats Hannah, you made it through another semester and started a new one a week later! That's right, I succumbed to peer pressure again (or advisors 'strong recommendation') to take a May-June class.
I really need to learn how to say NO!
I do miss the old blog though and am considering re-formatting a bit to make this more centered around my pursuits and less about the "how mom struggles to maintain existance with kids, school, and husband." But for today at least, I'm still just bloggin about me.
It's important to update that French Club was running really rough and my partner en francais was running into similar trouble with Le Table Ronde de Ft. Benning and so we decided to join forces and create Les Amis Francophones. I'm getting the best of French and Communications, how bout that? I learned how to make Coq au Vin (mostly because I was a complete genius and thought 'oh this recipe won't be that hard'... and IT IS!) and I have a bit of renewed vigor for bringing French Language and Culture to Columbus, GA and it's metro area.
I'm excited because tomorrow I'll be jumping in on a meeting for private French lessons with a student who graduated from CSU and will be teaching some kids this summer. I'm hoping to expand the notion to take field trips to the Columbus Museum (if I can find any French artwork there) en francais and play some patanque, boule, bocci or whatever you want to call it.
I say this all the time, but it doesnt matter to me if it's French or Arabic you want to learn to speak, what is important is learning a second (or 3rd or 4th) language! But if you're interested in French you can always email me or my friend Cheryl at Lesamisfranco@gmail.com and we'll get you on our list for events.
For now, it's late. I just wasted a lot of time looking into kids movies en francais and now it's time for bed!
Bonne nuit everyone!
