I think even before I was a Christian, there was a special feeling in the pit of my stomach when I knew something was God guided. It's calmer, humble, brighter, lighter, firmer, focused and, just... right. That's why I always trusted my gut (except when I'm stupid and second guessed myself).
So, I knew when it was time to go to school because... I felt it; I have known what classes to take, because it just seemed to feel like it was the time or that it was going to work right; jumping in to rehabilitate the French Club, amazingly perfect timing (a story for another day perhaps). I love that feeling because right now it's as close to God as I get and I feel like I'm finally on the right track, finally working towards my "purpose."
So what should have been this single semester group communication project ended up being something amazing. I followed my gut through almost the whole process and felt really God lead. I knew that even during the crappy times, it was "okay" and this what I was supposed to be doing. Since then I really have wanted to be involved in the community. I'm coming up with fundraising ideas, little things to improve existing programs and other ways to improve Columbus and the greater area. Could it be that I have finally found what it is that I want to do?
It's nice to be back at school. I wish I had more time to do what I *want* to do, but that's a concession I have to make. For now I'm waiting and working, working and waiting... because what I "feel" might not come quickly but it's coming. For me, up next is talking to some Legacy families/young professionals through this campus tour. Hopefully what we say will make an impact. If not I have a plan B and it's a good one.
Wish me luck, pray for me, and God get ready my running shoes because I feel like it's about time to start this marathon.
