'F' is for Flight... and also Fail

So Friday, started my whirlwind trip out of town to D.C. It seems we don't plan very well these days, often waiting til the last minute to get our tickets, make arrangements etc -I really would like to stop that it's so Frustrating- But whether or not I like it, we had some Family business to attend to. My husband's uncle passed away a Few months ago and per Buddhist tradition they were celebrating Tamboon Roy Wan (100 days of Merit, or 100 day celebration). Since my husband's uncle was able to make a Final trip to Thailand before he passed, my husband wasn't able to pay his respects, this was going to be our chance to go up and see the Family and also honor the memory of his uncle.

Things started off okay, we had to pick the kids up early From school and my baby in Pre-K got her First letter person assignment!!! Take a guess, which letter that might have been!? ;-)

We raced home For a quick lunch (mostly because I got our ticket time wrong and thought we left at 4 when we actually were supposed to leave at 5) and then realized we couldn't Find the cat! We had to give up and let her Fend For herself which really sucked because she's never been left out that long. On top of this my computer isn't working on our network and I couldn't print the tickets From my computer. The one connected to the computer was off and "Fax tickets to your machine" didn't work For some reason... But anyway cat left behind, and without our boarding tickets, we race to Atlanta and get there at a reasonable time, but come to Find my boarding pass mysteriously doesn't print at the kiosk and our Flight was late! (which of course I knew to be a bit ominous and Foreboding)

What ended up happening was an additional 2 hour Flight delay due to weather getting up to DC and when we Finally arrived, we Found out they never sent my bag. It was insane and I was so upset. Luckily my husbands cousin was there to pick us up and get us some Fantastic Thai Food from Rice and Noodle in Franconia, VA and we Finally ate dinner at 9:30 at night!

My poor sweet husband stayed up all night tracking my bag, even after I gave up and had to go to sleep. I had to go to bed that night without my toothbrush and in my husbands PJ's!  He said my bag didn't arrive until 6AM nearly 14 hours after we arrived in Atlanta and checked the bag! Way to Fail Delta :P but From there things got a lot better.

Later this week in my Wander Yonder blog I'm going to talk more about our Saturday trip to the National Zoo.  Saturday night and Sunday were all about Family and Friends. The ceremony at the Wat was very nice and then eating with the Family was wonderful! The Food was amazing, it's so nice to have his Family cook for us & to have authentic Thai cooking (cuz I just have to guess when I cook for my husband, he doesn't complain though). Mostly it was just nice to catch up with everyone, it's been a couple of years since we've seen them.

Today we came home, we're all a little tired and I'm not ready to jump back into work and school; especially because it's absurdly hard to do French homework while helping the kids with their homework. As soon as I would get done helping them and go to read my textbook they would interrupt me. I got a Few pages done, but I have a lot more to do by Thursday :( I love my Prof, but sometimes I think her method of teaching is like a punch to the Face. It's hard, Fast, and it hurts like hell... but you remember (only because you're afraid not to)!

We've got a whole week of Mrs. F the letter person, and I'm hoping the Flights are over and the only Fail this week is From Delta. Back to the Interns Desk tomorrow where hopefully Social Media will behave.
